| 28 Oct 1999 | Restarted on the work. I also implemented cascading style sheets. This because I always end up using tables. The problem with tables is that you have to set the FONT specifications for each and every cell in the table (again and again and again...).And to keep WebLint happy, you have to close the FONT specifier as well. And yes, it's still good old handcoded. Using VI (gvim) as the editor. Yes I am a die hard Unix addict. |
From June 1, 1999 upto November 1, 1999
Well, for starters the graphics and layout has been completely redesigned. The orginal pages were made with Microsoft FrontPage 98. This site is now completely handcoded HTML.
Completely handcoded? Yes, completely handcoded. I even used weblint on the HTML code.
Why? Because I wanted to learn and because I wanted a not so standard FrontPage look to the website. Also because I started to use Lynx quite a lot (no graphics also means no banners or advertising Java applets etc.). I found that the original site was not so hot on a Lynx (or non-microsoft browsers).
So? Well, I just thought that the website should have a facelift OK?
