Vocal Group

Jazzter is our own Vocal Jazz Group. Jazzter is made up of three lovely ladies and two grumbling males. We sing whatever pleases us, but mainly songs with a lot of jazzy and close harmony feeling to it. Click here for a list of current songs.

Jazzter started in the spring of 1995 as a trio. Early 1996 Alice joined in giving us a richer sound and - at least as important - the ability to sing more complex songs. (Some songs don't translate well from five voices to three ;-).

In april of 1999 we started working on our own musical. This is really a multi-year project to completeley renew our repertoire. Then when we have all new songs, we bring it in a theatershow. So, alas, until that time we will hardly do any performances. (What good is a new show when the audience already knows most of the songs?).

We had some changes in the group recently. Carla decided to leave the group in order to clear up some of her way too busy private life. She was replaced by Irene. Irene brought Ron into the group, having sung with him before in another group.

With these new voices we are energetically exploring new songs, including some (modified) from our 'old' repertoire and some new 5-part songs.

Who are this 'we' anyway?

• Ron Hartendorp, tenor/baritone
• Hans Voss, bass/baritone

We buy most of our music off the shelve. Then Nicoline or Ron usually rearrange them a bit. By the way, it is amazing how many good vocal jazz arangements can be bought. See our link page for places to look.
